A wish for you for a most Blessed Eid al-Adha (Holiday of the Sacrifice)
To all of our Muslim friends, members, and supporters,
We at the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD) wish you a most Blessed Eid al-Adha (Holiday of the Sacrifice).
May this holiday inspire us to increase our awareness of and gratitude for the many blessings we have been given as well as the enormous responsibility we have to serve and aid others. This year, we think especially of our fellow Americans in Houston, Texas where Hurricane Harvey continues to bring devastation and loss. It is our humble suggestion that as we spend time with our loved ones this Eid al-Adha we seek to share a bitof our abundance with those suffering in the South.
The Quran, Islam’s holy book, says that “with every hardship comes ease. (94:6)” While those displaced by Hurricane Harvey are experiencing terrible hardship, we have an opportunity to bring ease through sharing our blessings with them.
May we, as brothers and sisters in humanity, use this Eid al-Adha to grow closer to each other and to our Creator, and seize this opportunity to recommit ourselves to the universal values of human rights, individual liberty, and love for all mankind.
May all of your prayers and supplications be accepted and may the Hajj of all those who performed it this year also be accepted.
Yours in liberty,
Team AIFD
