Courtney Lonergan
Applied Cultural Anthropologist and Professional Facilitator of Participatory Processes
Courtney is an enthusiastic and compelling participatory facilitator who engages the diverse perspectives of her stakeholders in meaningful dialogue to elicit inspired action and thoughtful working groups. She has lead several non-profits and grassroots initiatives and is a skilled graphic artist. Courtney will be leading this session that will include:

 

M. Zuhdi Jasser, M.D.
Founder and President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD)
Dr. Jasser is the author of A Battle for the Soul of Islam: An American Muslim Patriot’s Fight to Save His Faith (Simon & Schuster, June 2012). On March 20, 2012, Dr. Jasser was appointed by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) where he served two terms both as a Commissioner and Vice-Chair until May 2016.

 

Soraya Deen
Soraya is a lawyer, an Interfaith Consultant and expert on Nonviolent Communication, Dialogue, Conflict Resolution and Peace making. She is a Fellow and Faculty of the Omnia Institute for Contextual Leadership, working directly with communities and Women impacted by Violent Extremism. Soraya joined the Muslim Reform Movement coalition in 2019 and has been a very strong supporter of our efforts.

 

Arif Humayun
Arif is a founding member of the Muslim Reform Movement and is a senior fellow with the American Islamic Forum for Democracy. Arif developed interest in comparative religion while living in Australia from 1989-92. His first book Islam: The Summit of Religious Evolution was published in 1992 which established the common bonds between the Semitic faiths. His latest book Connivance buy Silence discusses how the Majority’s Failure to Challenge Politically Motivated [Mis]Interpretations of the Qur’an Empowered Radicals to Propagate Radicalism.
